Bhubaneswar: Odisha has bagged the 5th Guangzhou Award in Online Popular City category. The Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation announced about the State’s feat over Twitter on Friday.
The Guangzhou Awards (organisation) identifies, documents, and disseminates innovative urban initiatives. Odisha’s Urban Wage Employment Initiative received was a key factor for the maximum votes polled on behalf of the State, reports said.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated the Housing and Urban Development Department for the State bagging this award.

The Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation aims to recognize innovation in improving social, economic and environmental sustainability in cities and regions and, in so doing, to advance the prosperity and quality of life of their citizens.
