Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of the 2nd ‘World Bicycle Day’, Bhubaneswar Cycling and Adventure Club (BCAC) gracefully celebrated the global event with a bicycle rally from Bhubaneswar Club to Nandankanan.
More than 30 cyclists including ladies and kids, from the age group of 4 to 64 joined the peloton of riders from different parts of this Smart City.
While the gala cyclothon event was flagged off from back side of Bhubaneswar Club, members wearing neon-green jerseys and helmets with other cycling gears celebrated the ‘World Bicycle Day’.
Cyclists with road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrid bikes and fat bikes made the effort to spread the message of healthy living and eco-friendliness with universal brotherhood and world peace, a BCAC press note stated.
On this occasion, BCAC president Sanjeeb Panda conveyed, “As a responsible citizen, everyone should come forward and adopt cycling wherever possible to stay fit and also help to keep the environment healthy.”
Notably, BCAC, claimed to be the only registered cycling and adventure club of Bhubaneswar is promoting cycling along with other adventure activities among the mass. It regularly conducts cycling expedition and does many events to promote cycling as a healthier and eco-friendly mode of exercise and general commute as a whole.
