Bhubaneswar: Financial aids for 48 lakh beneficiaries will be paid in advance in wake of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) outbreak. The announcement was made today by the Minister for Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Ashok Chandra Panda.
Briefing the media Panda said, “Under a directive issued by the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the department is making the advance payment for the months of April, May, June and July.”
Benefitting from this situation are 24 lakh beneficiaries under Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY) and another 24 lakh under the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP). “We are releasing the funds in advance so that beneficiaries, especially the aged, have no chance of possible COVID-19 contamination,” added Panda.
He also said that the Government is trying to create as much awareness as possible to contain the spreading of the epidemic coronavirus.
