**Berhampur**: A shameful incident from Berhampur’s Bada Bazaar area has come to light. A plastics store owner attempted suicide today after his disgusting act of forcing an eight-year-old to have ‘unnatural sex’ with him became public.
On July 24, the minor boy was playing in a field when accused K. Suresh allegedly approached him and forced him to compromise his dignity.
Today morning, the fateful incident came to light following which Suresh consumed poison attempting suicide at 9:30 am.
He was admitted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital and was later shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar when his condition worsened.
Bada Bazaar police has registered a case under Sections 377 and 325 of the Indian Penal Code.
As per Section 164 of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), the minor boy’s statement was also recorded by the Additional District Judge (ADJ), Berhampur today.
