Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha has announced a series of events to commemorate national unity and integrity, starting from August 9.
On the instructions of BJP National President J.P. Nadda, Kranti Diwas will be observed on August 9 to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the country and suffered imprisonment. Local martyrs will be remembered through cycle march, padyatra, and bike rallies in each district.
At a press meet, State President Manmohan Samal said from August 11 to 14, a Triranga Yatra will be organized, followed by a cleanliness drive and ‘Har Ghar Triranga’ event in every house from August 13 to 15.
August 14 will be observed as ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ (Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas) to pay tributes to those affected by the partition of India in 1947. A silent procession will be held in the evening.
Additionally, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be celebrated on August 16, and Raksha Bandhan will be observed on August 19.
State President Manmohan Samal appealed to all residents to join the events, which will be held from Mandal level to State level, involving all party functionaries, workers, and public representatives.
The events aim to promote national unity and integrity, and the party has urged widespread participation.
