Bhubaneswar: Odisha turned a roasting cauldron under the impact of heatwave conditions as mercury breached 40°C at as many as 32 places on Friday.
According to the evening weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD’s) regional centre here, Boudh was the hottest place in the State with maximum daytime temperature reaching as high as 44.3°C. Ten places recorded more than 43°C.

The IMD has predicted that heatwave conditions will prevail in the State till April 21.
The weather agency said that there likelihood of a brief respite from the heatwave in the State from April 21 to 24 under the impact of Kalbaisakhi.
Again temperature is likely to soar in the state from April 25 under the impact of dry air.
