Rairangpur (Mayurbhanj): After a couple of days of the horrendous incident, the husband of the deceased woman, who was allegedly raped and burnt alive, surrendered before Rairangpur Police on Tuesday night.

The man, identified as Abhinash Khemka, along with his mother and sister were reportedly absconding since the incident. However, police is still searching for the other two.

A case has been registered against the woman’s husband, her father-in-law, mother-in-law and sister-in-law under Sections 498 (A), 302, 376, 506 and 201 of IPC.

Rairangpur police had arrested her father-in-law Ramgopal Khemka from Jamshedpur, who had allegedly raped and set her ablaze after dousing her with kerosene.

She had sustained over 90 percent burn injuries as her ruthless father-in-law in bid to hush up his crime had burnt her to death in their house itself on Saturday last week.

She was admitted to Rairangpur DHH initially but was later shifted to Tata Memorial Hospital in Jamshedpur.
