Odisha: Businessman Abducted in Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: A businessman of Dongerbheja village of Nandahandi block has been reportedly abducted on Thursday by unidentified miscreants. The victim, Sadasiv Sahoo is a renowned trader of the area and also associated with politics.

Sahoo, a hotelier, owns a couple of property in the district. This apart, he also runs a cement and construction material trade and is an active member of a regional party.

He used to commute from Dongerbheja to Nabarangpur town for business purposes on a regular basis. Today afternoon, after having Prasad at the Jagannath temple here, Sahoo proceeded towards the Block office from where he headed towards his home on a two-wheeler.

At Sindhiguda square he was allegedly abducted by miscreants while he was on his way home. The persons involved in the abduction have used a four-wheeler in the crime, said sources.

Sahoo’s elder brother, Madhusudhan Sahoo reported the matter with local police. A FIR has been registered and search is on to trace Sahoo. The family alleges that the abduction could be the fallout of political or business rivalry.
