Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Saturday approved amendments to the Combined Technical Services (CTS) Recruitment Examination Rules, 2022, increasing the number of posts under the examination from 10 to 20.
Under the new amendment, the post of Assistant Training Officer (ATO) has been removed, as it will now be filled under a separate recruitment framework outlined in the Odisha Government ITI Trainers Services Rules, 2024. In its place, the Cabinet approved the inclusion of Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical/Automobile) posts under the Housing and Urban Development Department.
The changes also simplify the recruitment process. Previously, any addition or removal of posts or modifications to the examination syllabus required Cabinet approval and notification in the official Gazette. The amended rules now allow such changes to be made with direct approval of the Government, streamlining the procedure.
The Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) will conduct recruitment for all 20 posts under the Combined Technical Services Examination.
