Bhubaneswar/ Kyoto: The Odisha Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in a virtual mode from Japan’s Kyoto took several key decisions on Sunday.
Aside from approving a proposal to establish a separate directorate for Odisha families residing outside Odisha and the country to deal with various problems being faced by Non-resident Odias (NROs), the Cabinet approved a total of seven rural piped water projects, including six in Bolangir.
According to the Cabinet, providing safe drinking water to the people living in rural areas is one of the priority areas of the state government. Accordingly, the government has taken a decision for the execution of the Rural Piped Water Supply Project to provide safe drinking water in Cuttack district out of JJM funding. By execution of the project, around 1,47,542 people of 149 villages under 23 gram panchayats of Tangi-Choudwar block of the district will be provided with safe drinking water.
The state Cabinet has approved the lowest tender of M/s Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon Pvt. Ltd – JV- Bhugan Infracon Pvt Ltd., Ahmedabad, amounting to Rs 153,51,25,281.00 for the execution of the above work. The work is targeted for completion within a period of 24 months.
