Odisha Cabinet Clears 2 Rural Drinking Water Projects In Bargarh District

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet today cleared a proposal of the Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department to construct two rural piped water supply projects in Bargarh district under the BASUDHA scheme at a combined estimated cost of Rs 724 crore.

The projects which are targeted for completion within a period of 24 months will provide safe drinking to people of 515 villages spread in 138 gram panchayats under Attabira, Barpali, Bijepur, Gaiselet, Bargarh, and Bheden blocks of the district.

While one project to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 215.31 crore will supply safe drinking water to 166 villages in Bheden and Barpali blocks, another project to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 508.75 crore will meet the safe drinking water needs of 349 villages in five blocks of Attabira, Barpali, Bijepur, Gaiselet and Bargarh blocks.

The Cabinet approved lowest tenders for these projects.
