Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet today approved a proposal to restructure the Odisha Pharmacist Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Amendment Rules, 2024.
In view of the mandate under the revised Indian Public Health Standard (IPHS) guidelines published in the year 2022 by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the State is committed to make all public health care facilities in the State IPHS compliant, for providing better health care service to the people of the State.
Accordingly, the proposal for re-structuring of cadre of Pharmacy Officer has been approved in following manner with due concurrence of GA & PG Department and Finance Department in order to meet the Indian Public Health Standard (IPHS) norms, to provide better health care service at the grass root level and to provide for a healthy structure for rational, periodic advancement in career of Pharmacy Officers.
Out of 3490 base-level posts of Pharmacy officer, 792 posts are abolished, and 107 new posts of Chief Pharmacy Officer are created. Besides 1622 posts are enhanced in promotional posts of Senior Pharmacy Officer Level-II and Senior Pharmacy Officer Level-I arriving total cadre strength of 5009. 4. The post of Chief Pharmacy Officer has been created as promotional hierarchy.
