Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Saturday approved a proposal of the Labour & E.S.I. Department for framing the Odisha Employees State Insurance Scheme Radiographer Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2026, paving the way for a structured and regulated framework for radiographers serving under the state’s ESI system.
The newly framed cadre rules aim to streamline the recruitment process, promotional avenues and service conditions of professionals appointed to the Odisha Employees State Insurance Scheme Radiographer Service. These personnel will serve in Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) hospitals and dispensaries functioning across the state.
The move is expected to bring greater clarity and uniformity in appointments and career progression of radiographers engaged in ESI institutions. By formally defining the methods of recruitment and laying down service conditions, the government seeks to ensure better administrative efficiency and improved healthcare delivery within the ESI network.
Officials said the new rules will provide a clear service structure, strengthen human resource management and help maintain professional standards in diagnostic services offered at ESI hospitals and dispensaries in Odisha.
The Cabinet’s approval marks a significant administrative reform in the functioning of the state’s ESI healthcare framework, with the objective of enhancing service quality for insured workers and beneficiaries.
