Bhubaneswar: The Government of India has approved the appointment of 2011 batch Odisha cadre IAS officer Ashish Thakare as Director in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Delhi, under the Central Staffing Scheme. The appointment, effective from the date Thakare assumes charge, is for tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.
According to an official communication from Sakshi Mittal, Director, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions on Tuesday (June 3), the Odisha Government has been directed to relieve Thakare of his current duties immediately to enable him to take up his new assignment in Delhi.
The communication further stipulates that, as per the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) guidelines issued on August 17, 2005, Thakare must join the new post within three weeks from the issuance of the appointment order, dated June 30, 2025.
Failure to comply may lead to debarment from the Central Staffing Scheme, the communication added.
