Odisha CB Arrests Hard-Core Maoist Madabi Bandi In Sunki Landmine Blast Incident

**Cuttack: ** Odisha Crime Branch sleuths have arrested hard-core Maoist Madabi Bandi in connection with the Sunki landmine blast incident in February this year.

The blast had tragically killed eight police personnel who were travelling in a police vehicle from Koraput to Cuttack for undergoing training.

While eight jawans were killed in the landmine blast, five others had sustained serious injuries. They were coming from there to undergo training as assistant driver and havildar when this mishap took place at Sunki Ghati, 2 km before Andhra border. The injured had to be rushed to a hospital in Vishakhapatnam.

Odisha Crime Branch Special DG Bijay Sharma on Wednesday tweeted, “Arrest of Madabi Bandi was possible bcos of hard work & sincerity of Koraput Police led by the Dist SP. He is being produced bfr Magistrate.”

The Special DG also tweeted, “State Govt. had entrusted the investigation to Crime Branch which had formed a special team for the purpose.”
