Bhubaneswar: The Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha on Tuesday released dates for filing nomination, scrutiny, withdrawal and holding of the poll for Pipili Assembly Constituency.
As per a notification of the Election Commission published in the Odisha Gazette, the seat for Pipili Assembly Constituency was vacant after the death of Pradeep Maharathy on October 4.
As a bye-election is to be held for filling the vacancy, the Election Commission has directed to elect a person for the purpose before May 4, 2021.
Accordingly, March 30 has been set as the last date for filing the nominations. The nomination papers will be scrutinised on March 31 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is April 3.
The polling, if necessary, will be held on April 17. The Election Commission has further directed to hold the polling between 7 AM to 8 PM on the specified date.
