**Bhubaneswar: ** Election Commission of India today announced the final voter list for Odisha. This was informed by State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) at a significant press meet here. He informed that Odisha has 3,18,00,787 voters as per the final electoral roll while there are 5, 48, 454 new voters this time after the revision.
Convening a press meet today here, Odisha CEO Surendra Kumar informed, “Today we are publishing the final voter list of Odisha’s 147 assembly constituencies. As per the final voter list, there are 3,18,00,787 voters in our State. As per the draft publication on September 1, 2018, there were 3, 12, 52, 333 voters. Hence, there is an increase in the voter list and the figure stands at 5,48,454.”
He also informed, “A toll free no for the voters’ aid has been facilitated and its number is 1950. On this number they can lodged their complaints and grievances. We are trying to open Voter District Call Centre in every district from January 25. The voters can have their queries answered as well as complaints registered. This facility will be available on every working day i.e. from 10 am to 5 pm. When the election will be held, its timeline will also be increased. Caller has to pay no tariff. The manpower to be engaged here will undergo a training tomorrow. If required, one more round of training will be imparted how to deal with the caller voters.”
He further informed, “By this month end, we are going to set up a voter aid centre at every District Collector (District Election Officer)’s office and every office of the Returning Officer of assembly constituency. An officer with a computer linked with internet facility will respond to the complaints and queries of the voters. We are also trying to have the facility at every Block and Tehsil level.”
The CEO also informed that 6,50,365 voters have been kept out of the list due to several reasons and as per the norms of the Election Commission of India.
He further informed that 23,76,595 total forms had been received during the electoral roll revision. They are Form 6, Form 7, Form 8 and Form 8 A.
He also stated, “There is an Elector Population (EP) Ratio. Our EP Ratio as per the draft publication was 69.75%. It has now got increased to 71.26%, a growth of 1.51%. Similarly, the percentage of female voters as per the draft publication of 2018, was 939 per 1000 male voters. Now it has increased to 946 female voters per 1000 male voters.
