Bhubaneswar: A day after the fierce gunbattle in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district in which 29 naxals were killed, Odisha police today sealed all entry and exit points to Chhattisgarh. The road connecting to Odisha-Chhattisgarh border have also been sealed.
The security forces have also intensified search operation and patrolling in various sensitive places across the State. The forces have kept a close watch on the Maoists hideouts on the border areas. Chhattisgarh police also exchanged intelligence inputs with Odisha counterparts.
The entry/exit points of four border districts including Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nuapada have been sealed as the ultras are expected to enter Odisha forest after suffering massive losses in Chhattisgarh, ADG (Operation) Devidutta Singh said.
Odisha police in coordination with BSF, SOG, DVF, CRPF have been kept prepared to face any possible untoward situation, he added.
The border areas are under close watch of security forces with the use of night binocular, drones.
