Bhubaneswar: In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha on June 20, a state-level preparatory meeting was convened today at Lok Seva Bhawan. The meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.
According to the schedule finalized in the meeting, the Prime Minister will depart Kushinagar International Airport of Uttar Pradesh at 2:05 pm on June 20, aboard a special Air Force aircraft. He is expected to arrive at Bhubaneswar Airport at 3:40 pm. From there, the Prime Minister will proceed to Janata Maidan, arriving at approximately 4:15 pm.
At Janata Maidan, the Prime Minister will address the gathering, highlighting the achievements of the Odisha government on the occasion of its first anniversary under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Various programs scheduled for the event will be conducted under his supervision. The Prime Minister is slated to depart the venue at 5:35 pm and take off from Bhubaneswar Airport at 5:50 pm.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja has issued comprehensive directives to all relevant departments to ensure seamless and orderly execution of all events, with special emphasis on security arrangements. The meeting was attended by senior officials including Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg; Additional Chief Secretaries Satyabrat Sahu and Hemant Sharma; State Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania; Principal Secretaries and Commissioners of various departments; Senior Superintendents of Police; the District Collector of Khordha; and other key officials.
Security preparations are being led by the State Director General of Police and Inspector General of Police, with the Bhubaneswar Police Commissionerate managing security within the city. Protocol mandates tight security coverage from the airport landing point to the event venues and along all transit routes.
Further discussions covered arrangements by the Fire Services Department, press coordination, contingency planning by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, health and medical facilities, road maintenance, sanitation, assembly platform setup, pass issuance, media publicity, and internet connectivity at the venues. A control room will be established under the supervision of the Additional Secretary, Home (Protocol), to oversee operations.
To welcome the Prime Minister, cultural programs will be staged at key locations including Bhubaneswar Airport, Raj Bhavan, Kalinga Stadium, Jayadev Vihar, and Janata Maidan.
Given the expected large turnout, detailed planning has been undertaken to ensure smooth crowd management and orderly conduct of all activities.
