Cuttack: As the whole world is dealing with the pandemic novel coronavirus, people of Odisha marked the 6th International Yoga Day by practicing Yoga at their respective homes with family.
There were no mass gatherings but it did not dampen the spirit of all. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and family, BJD MLA Pritiranjan Gharai and his actress wife Jhilik Bhattacharjee and many others were found practicing Yoga.
Students of a Yoga training centre at Khatbin Sahi in Cuttack also celebrated the 6th International Yoga Day by practicing Yoga while taking all COVID-19 precautions.
Earlier in the day, President Ram Nath Kovind had said that amid stress and strife, especially with Covid-19, practicing Yoga can help keep the body fit and mind serene.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also stressed on developing immunity through Yoga by strengthening our respiratory system which is the most vulnerable part in the fight against global pandemic novel coronavirus.
