Bhubaneswar: Odisha has taken another decisive step towards job-led industrial growth with the approval of 23 industrial investment proposals worth ₹4,111.80 crore, expected to generate 9,924 employment opportunities, under the State’s Single Window clearance mechanism.
The approvals were accorded at the 144th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, reflecting the State Government’s push to translate investment intent into on-ground projects. The clearances mark a significant milestone in Odisha’s industrial expansion drive under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, with a sharp focus on employment creation and diversified manufacturing.
The approved proposals span a broad spectrum of sectors including mechanical and electrical capital goods, apparel and textiles, aerospace and defence manufacturing, shipbuilding and ship repair, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, refractories, aluminium downstream industries, mineral beneficiation, metal downstream, plastics, glass manufacturing, logistics and warehousing, infrastructure, and tourism and hospitality. The wide sectoral spread highlights Odisha’s evolving, future-ready industrial ecosystem that balances traditional strengths with emerging industries.
Geographically, the projects will be implemented across eleven districts—Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Debagarh, Ganjam, Jajpur, Khordha, Koraput, Puri, Sambalpur and Sundargarh—ensuring regionally balanced industrial development and wider employment generation across the State.
Among the major approvals, Nipha Limited will establish a railway component manufacturing unit in Khordha with an investment of ₹384 crore, creating 310 jobs. Strengthening Odisha’s footprint in advanced manufacturing, Inventgrid India Private Limited will set up an advanced multi-drone manufacturing centre in Ganjam with an investment of ₹300 crore, generating 1,000 jobs and reinforcing the State’s aerospace and defence manufacturing ecosystem.
In the maritime sector, Northern Express Infradevelopers Private Limited will develop a shipbuilding and ship-repair facility in Bhadrak at an investment of ₹339.40 crore, creating 507 employment opportunities, positioning Odisha as an emerging maritime industrial hub.
Employment-intensive manufacturing also featured prominently, with J.G. Hosiery Private Limited proposing an apparel manufacturing unit in Khordha with an investment of ₹100 crore, capable of producing nearly 150 million pieces annually and generating 2,350 jobs, making it one of the largest employment creators among the approved projects.
The pharmaceuticals and chemicals sectors saw multiple approvals, including Alventa Pharma Limited’s pharmaceutical formulation unit in Khordha and Blue Mount Energy Private Limited’s sorbitol manufacturing unit in Cuttack, each with investments of ₹100 crore. Additionally, Growing Tree Oil Refinery Private Limited will establish an integrated agro-processing and feed manufacturing complex in Cuttack, further strengthening chemical and agro-industrial value chains.
In the mineral beneficiation and metal downstream segments, large-scale projects by companies such as Kalinga Metalics Limited, Rashmi Metallurgical Industry Private Limited, Shree Ram Iron and Alloys Private Limited, and others will significantly enhance Odisha’s mineral-based industrial value chain, particularly in Sundargarh and Debagarh districts.
The approvals also include key investments in logistics and warehousing, with Shrishti Trading Corporation Private Limited setting up a logistics park in Cuttack, and a series of premium hospitality projects across Khordha, Puri and Sambalpur aimed at strengthening Odisha’s high-end tourism infrastructure.
Together, these 23 projects reaffirm Odisha’s position as a high-potential investment destination in Eastern India, backed by a robust Single Window system that ensures time-bound clearances, coordinated approvals and proactive investor facilitation.
Aligned with the long-term vision of Samruddha Odisha 2036, the latest clearances underscore the State Government’s commitment to employment-intensive growth, sustainable industrialisation and balanced regional development, as Odisha steadily moves from vision to execution.
