Odisha Clears Rs 4,982 Cr Worth Investment Proposals Across 12 Districts, To Create 11,933 Jobs

Bhubaneswar: In a major push towards industrial expansion and inclusive economic growth, the Government of Odisha has approved 23 new investment proposals worth ₹4,982.66 crore during the 138th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja. These projects, spread across 12 districts, are expected to generate 11,933 jobs, marking a significant step forward in the state’s journey towards achieving the vision of Samrudha Odisha by 2036.

The investment approvals span a diverse set of sectors including Apparel and Textiles, Steel and Downstream Industries, Food and Beverages, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Power and Renewable Energy, IT and ITES, Tourism, and Aerospace and Defence. This comprehensive sectoral coverage reflects the Odisha government’s commitment to balanced regional development, employment generation, and sustainable industrialisation under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

A major highlight of the approvals was a ₹350 crore investment by KPR Mill Limited to establish a large-scale garment manufacturing unit in Khordha, which will produce nearly 47 million pieces annually and create 5,000 jobs, giving a significant boost to the state’s growing textile ecosystem. The steel and downstream sector continues to be a key pillar of Odisha’s industrial landscape, with Vidya Minerals Pvt. Ltd. setting up an integrated steel plant in Sundargarh at an investment of ₹620 crore, alongside other investments by Jatia Steel Limited and companies like Amsted Steel Foundries and Mankash Enterprises.

The food and beverages sector also saw robust proposals, including a ₹320 crore beverage plant by Hindustan Aqua Pvt. Ltd. in Sundargarh and a ₹114.34 crore dairy facility by Pragati Milk Products in Balasore, which alone will generate 674 jobs. Meanwhile, Odisha’s tourism and hospitality sector received a major uplift with six premium projects worth ₹479 crore planned across Puri, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, and Ganjam, expected to create 1,352 jobs and further position the state as a luxury tourism destination.

One of the most forward-looking proposals came from BonV Technology Pvt. Ltd., which will invest ₹300 crore in developing a Drone Park in Khordha. The facility will serve as an integrated hub for research, manufacturing, and training in drone technologies, generating 760 jobs and placing Odisha on the national map for aerospace and defence innovation.

Green energy and sustainability remained central to the investment agenda. Ecodynamix Green Energy Pvt. Ltd. will set up a 30 MW solar power plant in Bargarh, while Luminous Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has proposed a ₹950 crore project in Gopalpur to manufacture solar cells and PV modules, creating 1,000 green jobs and bolstering Odisha’s renewable energy capacity.

In the chemicals and pharmaceuticals domain, Linde India, Growing Tree Oil Refinery, and Synnat Pharma have proposed new facilities in Sundargarh, Bargarh, and Cuttack respectively. The IT and digital sector also saw traction with Apmosys Technologies proposing a ₹65 crore software development centre in Khordha, which is set to employ 155 professionals.

The approved projects underscore Odisha’s strong governance, investor-friendly policies, and strategic planning, aimed at ensuring job creation, value addition, and equitable industrial development. With a future-focused roadmap and rapid clearances through platforms like SLSWCA, Odisha continues to rise as a premier investment destination in India.
