Odisha CM Announces Creation Of 34 New NACs

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced the creation of 34 new Notified Area Councils (NACs) in 20 districts of the state and the upgradation of five NACs of four districts to municipalities.

According to the Chief Minister’s announcement, Boudhgarh of Boudh district, Karanjia of Mayurbhanj, Kantabanji of Balangir, Chhatrapur and Aska NACs of Ganjam district have been upgraded to municipalities.

The Chief Minister took the decision keeping in view suggestions received from the public during the visit of the 5T Chairman Kartik Pandian to various districts and the need for development.

The new Notified Area Councils are – Pallahara and Chhendipada of Angul district, Basta and Simulia of Balasore district; Paikmal and Bheden of Bargarh district; Agarpada of Bhadrak district; Belapada and Saintala of Balangir district; Binjharpur, Panikoili, Jaraka and Chandikhol of Jajpur district; Jaipatna of Kalahandi district; Raikia of Kandhamal district; Borigumma of Koraput district; Sinapali of Nuapada district; Chandili, Muniguda and Bissam Cuttack of Rayagada district; Dunguripali of Subarnapur district; Bonai of Sundargarh district; Sheragada and Kukudakhandi of Ganjam district; Kantilo of Nayagarh district; Tangi and Begunia of Khordha district; Salipur, Baramba, Narsinghpur and Niali of Cuttack district; Betanoti of Mayurbhanj district, Parjang of Dhenkanal district and Kantamal in Boudh district.

It is worth noting that given public demand, increasing population, development and economic growth, the Chief Minister decided to create these new NACs. The Chief Minister expressed hope that the newly formed NACs will work towards the overall development of the area.
