Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has hiked the monthly remuneration of Urdu teachers engaged in Upper Primary and middle English schools and of Urdu Resource teachers working in government fully aided and newly aided High Schools from existing Rs 7,400 to Rs 15,000. This was announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today.
It may be mentioned here that during 5T chairman Kartik Pandian’s visit to districts, Urdu teachers engaged in different parts of the state had drawn his attention to their problems.
The state government has engaged contractual Urdu teachers and Urdu Resource teachers in various Upper Primary, Middle English schools and High Schools of the state which have more than 10 students opting for Urdu as their primary language. Earlier, they were paid Rs 7,400 per month.
As per the decision of the state government, now they will get a remuneration of Rs15,000 per month. The decision of the state government will benefit 44 Urdu teachers engaged in Upper Primary and middle English schools and 40 Urdu Resource teachers engaged in government fully aided and newly aided High Schools.
