Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced that two new Government Industrial Training Centres (ITIs) will be opened at Sambalpur’s Kuchinda and Bolangir’s Patnagarh.
This will especially benefit the youth of these tribal-dominated regions.
The establishment of a new Government ITI at Kuchinda will benefit the youth of Kuchinda, Bamra and Jamankira blocks. As many as 240 trainees will be trained in four trades having potential for employment and self-employment.
With several industries coming up in the periphery of Sambalpur it will create big opportunities for employment and self-employment for the students.
Similarly, the Government ITI to be established at Patnagarh will train 240 students in four trades. Vocational training in addition to enhancing the skills of the block’s youth will provide them with opportunities for employment and self-employment.
Notably, out of the 314 blocks in the State 241 blocks have government/private ITIs. Similarly, out of 58 sub-divisions, 48 have ITIs. After the opening of ITIs at Patnagarh and Kuchinda, it will go up to 50.
