Bhubaneswar: The youth of Odisha have immense potential in every possible field. They have the talent, knowledge, and with dedication, the youth if the state can excel in all fields, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said at Bolangir today.
Addressing the Platinum Jubilee celebration of Rajendra College, Bolangir, Naveen said, “As Odisha is moving ahead with a high growth rate, higher than the national average, there are huge opportunities in Odisha itself in various fields like Industries, Infrastructure, Health, Education, IT and many other sectors.”
He called upon the students to join this movement of massive development process and scale new heights for the state. Naveen paid rich tributes to former Chief Minister and Patna Maharaj Rajendra Narayan Singh Deo who had immense contribution in setting up of the institution.
Rajendra college is like a heritage institution in Higher Education which has produced many brilliant students who have made the nation and the state proud. Considering the contribution of this institution, the State Government has upgraded it to the status of University, Naveen said.
“The State Government is committed to the development of this institution. I announce a grant of Rs 25 crore to address the infrastructural needs such as development of academic and administrative blocks of the University,” he said and added, a District Science Centre and a Planetarium will be established on the premises of the institute.
“Education is a powerful instrument for social change. The destiny of a nation can only be changed by knowledge and education. Therefore, development of knowledge and skill among the youth should be the core philosophy for improvement of our human resources potential,” the Chief Minister concluded.
