Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday announced a grant of Rs 5 crore each for Kerala and Tripura to support recovery efforts following recent natural disasters in both States.
Majhi expressed condolences to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha over the devastation caused by landslides and flooding, respectively. He conveyed Odisha’s readiness to assist with post-disaster recovery and reconstruction during telephonic conversations with the chief ministers.
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stated that Majhi announced financial aid from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to support the affected states. Kerala and Tripura will each receive Rs 5 crore to aid in their recovery efforts.
Both Vijayan and Saha expressed gratitude for Odisha’s support, while Majhi thanked them for their assistance to Odia residents in their states during recent natural disasters.
Kerala recently faced a massive landslide while Tripura was battered by a devastating flood.
