Odisha CM Asks Union Culture Minister To Depute Experts For Restoration Of Srimandir, Sun Temple

Bhubaneswar:   With reports of cyclone FANI causing significant damage to infrastructures of Shree Jagannath Temple at Puri and Sun Temple at Konark, Odisha Chief Minister on Thursday asked Union Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma to depute a team of experts for restoration of the heritage monuments.

“As Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is the concerned agency for maintenance and upkeep of these world famous temples, I would request you to consider deputing a high level team of experts to assess the damages caused to these structures,” stated Patnaik in a letter to Sharma.

Patnaik has emphasized it so that appropriate remedial measures can be undertaken by the ASI at the earliest, especially keeping in view the Rath Yatra scheduled on July 4 this year.
