Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today spoke with Kandhamal’s Superintendent of Police Prateek Singh over telephone and wished him for the successful anti-Maoist operation in the district executed on Sunday.
“The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the SP and his team in containing Maoist activities in the district. The Chief Minister has also assured all supports in this regard,” a communique issued by the Chief Minister’s Office read.
In a fierce anti-Maoist operation on Sunday morning, four left-wing extremists were gunned down and a huge haul of arms and ammunition was recovered from. A joint team of Special Operation Group (SOG) and District Voluntary Force (DVF) carried out the operation at Sirla forest area within Tumudibandha police limits.
