Bhubaneswar: On the launching day of the nationwide mega Covid-19 vaccination drive, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik collected feedback from the vaccinated health workers via video conferencing.
Besides congratulating and encouraging the health workers for being vaccinated, he appealed one and all for extending cooperation in the most vital programme of the year.
The Chief Minister said, “2021 has ushered in with good news for all. The long wait has ended today. Our Covid warriors have been extending their services risking their precious lives for the last 10 months. We can never forget their dedication and sacrifice. We are proud of them.”
Terming the Covid-19 vaccination as the biggest and most significant programme of the current year, he wished the cooperation of one and all, especially the health workers to successfully contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
Stating that the State Government has been taking lots of measures to save the lives of the people, the Chief Minister said that Odisha is a leading State in the entire country in the context of Covid recovery as well as less death rate.
Thanking the scientists and researchers on the occasion, he said that they have enhanced the pride and glory of the nation by inventing the Corona vaccine in a record period of time. Today our pharmaceutical companies are supplying the vaccine to various foreign countries.
The Chief Minister also interacted with a vaccinated health worker of Capital Hospital, a female health worker of Sundargarh DHH and also a vaccinated doctor of Berhampur City Hospital. They all apprised the Chief Minister that they are fit and fine without any side reactions after being vaccinated.
While Odisha Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Minister Naba Kishore Das gave his welcome speech on the occasion from Jharsuguda, H&FW Additional Chief Secretary Pradipta Mohapatra delivered vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by Secretary to CM (5T) V.K. Pandian.
Prominent among others, the special occasion was also graced by Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, other senior bureaucrats and the Collectors of all the 30 districts of Odisha, a CMO press communiqué stated.
