Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has taken strong cognisance of the brutal attack on an Odia youth in Tamil Nadu, describing the incident as “strongly condemnable”.
The Odisha government is in constant contact with Tamil Nadu authorities, ensuring the victim receives top-notch treatment and the perpetrators face severe punishment.
“The safety and self-respect of all Odias are paramount to us. Our government is determined to ensure the safety of every Odia brother and sister working outside the state,” Majhi stated.
The victim, a resident of Odisha, was attacked by four minors wielding machetes in Tamil Nadu. A video of the brutality went viral on social media. The attackers were later detained, with three sent to a juvenile home and one released on bail, citing studies. The victim is currently undergoing treatment at Thiruvallur Government Hospital.
