Odisha CM Condoles Former Speaker Kishore Mohanty’s Demise

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed deep grief over the sudden demise of Brajrajnagar MLA and former Speaker of Odisha Assembly Kishore Mohanty.

In a condolence message, Patnaik said that he is deeply saddened over Mohanty’s death. He described Mohanty as a popular leader who was loved by all across party affiliations.

Patnaik said that as a Speaker Mohanty had upheld high parliamentary traditions and had earned the respect of legislators from all parties.

As a Minister and MLA he has made a significant contribution to Odisha’s development, Patnaik added.

The Chief Minister stated that Mohanty had initiated several developmental works as the Chairman of Western Odisha Development Council (WODC).

He had provided strong leadership to BJD’s organizational work in western Odisha, the CM added.

Patnaik said that service and commitment were the two distinct sides of Mohanty’s personality.

Praying for the salvation of the departed soul, Chief Minister has extended his sympathies to the bereaved family.
