Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated 445 transformed high schools in five districts on the fifth day of the second phase of school transformation under the 5T initiative.
Out of these transformed high schools, 135 are in Balasore district, 95 are in Puri district, 60 are in Nayagarh, 75 are in Jagatsinghpur and 80 are in Bhadrak district, said an official press release.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that transformation of schools has brought joy and excitement among the children. It has given them new hope and aspiration, he added.
Stating that time spent in school is the best time in one’s life, the Chief Minister said that this transformation has given us an opportunity to groom our children as the best. He urged the students to excel in their respective fields be it studies or sports.
The Chief Minister thanked the School Management Committee, the Panchayat representatives, the alumnus, and the teachers for the success of the 5T high school transformation programme.
He called upon the students to make good use of this important phase of life and create a new identity for themselves, for their families and for Odisha.
Participating in the programme, Ministers Aswini Patra, Samir Ranjan Dash, MLAs Arun Sahoo and Byomkesh Ray and Government Chief Whip Prasanta Kumar Muduli lauded the Chief Minister and said that school transformation has brought a revolutionary change in the transformation of education.
Secretary to Chief Minister (5T), VK Pandian coordinated the event. Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra and other senior officials were also present.
Principal Secretary School & Mass Education Department Bishnupada Sethi read out the welcome address and OSEPA Project Director gave the vote of thanks.
