Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday dedicated 73 ‘Ama Hospitals’, 5 Sub-Divisional Dialysis Centers in 15 districts of the state and also launched patient feedback collection system through IVRS method and staff attendance system through facial recognition in all district headquarters hospitals of the state.
It is worth noting that a total of 73 transformed ‘Ama Hospitals’ were dedicated today which include 5 in Bargarh district, 7 in Sundergarh district, 4 in Sambalpur district, 4 in Dhenkanal district, 6 in Keonjhar district, 2 in Jharsuguda district, 4 in Jagatsinghpur district, 5 in Kendrapada district, 9 in Mayurbhanj district, 13 in Ganjam district, 4 in Kalahandi district, 4 in Rayagada district, 2 in Nuapada district, 2 in Malkangari district and 3 in Kandhamal district.
Along with this, the Chief Minister also inaugurated 5 new sub-divisional level dialysis centres in Mayurbhanj Karanjia Sub-Divisional Hospital, Sambalpur Kuchinda Sub-Divisional Hospital, Ganjam Hinjilikatu Sub-Divisional Hospital, Nuapada Kharia Sub-Divisional Hospital and Padmapur Sub-Divisional Hospital in Bargarh.
Attending the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister said that all the arrangements in ‘Ama Hospital’ have been made keeping in mind the convenience of the people.
The main objective of this program is to provide patients with better medical facilities easily. The Chief Minister said that ‘Ama Hospitals’ will usher in a new era in the field of healthcare in the state.
He further said that ‘Ama Hospital’ will further brighten the image of transformation in the healthcare sector. He said that ‘Ama Hospital’ has been started based on the proposals received during the district visits of the 5T Chairman and feedback of the public through ‘Mo Sarkar’. The Chief Minister stated that this is a huge transformation in our healthcare sector at the government level adding that the 5T initiative has improved the infrastructure of hospitals, basic facilities for patients and the way of service delivery.
“Quality has been also ensured. It is targeted to include 1858 hospitals in the next 5 years under this program and for this purpose more than Rs 3,300 crore has been allocated during 2023-28,” the Chief Minister said. Currently, transformation work of 149 hospitals is going on, he added.
Highlighting the health services of the state, the Chief Minister said that 4,000 doctors and more than 3,700 nurses have been recruited in the last one year to provide better health services to the people. Free treatment has been provided for both the rich and the poor in government hospitals, he added. Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana has today become a model across Odisha in the field of healthcare, he said. The people of Odisha are relieved of their worries for availing medical treatment, he added.
“By implementing the mantra ‘All lives are precious to me’, we shall certainly fulfil the dream of ‘Sustha Odisha, Sukhi Odisha’ with cooperation from all,” the Chief Minister asserted.
Participating in the program, Health and Family Welfare Minister Niranjan Pujari said that the Chief Minister launched the ‘Ama Hospital Yojana’ today to make our government hospitals at par with private hospitals. He said that in the eyes of the Chief Minister the life of a poor man is as important as the life of a rich man.
Zilla Parishad President Anjali Swain at Hinjilikattu, Bikram Kumar Panda MLA at Ganjam Keluapalli, MLA Barsha Singh Bariha at Padampur, MLA Kishore Chandra Naik at Kuchinda, MLA Raghunath Gamango at Gunupur, MLA Nrusingha Charan Sahu at Parjang, Kalahandi MP Sujit Kumar, Government Chief Whip Prashant Kumar Muduli at Jagatsinghpur, Minister Rajendra Dholakia at Khariar, Minister Sarada Prasad Nayak at Badgaon, and Minister Sudam Marndi at Sirsa in Mayurbhanj joined the program and opined that our hospitals are delivering high-quality service while it is a revolutionary transformation in the field of healthcare.
The program was coordinated by 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian.
Addressing the people of Jagatsinghpur district, Pandian said that on June 30, during his visit to Jagatsinghpur district, they had apprised about the hospital land problem. The government has taken that into cognizance. He said that 5 acres and 80 decimals of land will be given to the hospital.
“We have also successfully implemented the ‘Ama Hospital’ scheme in the state within a year which it was kickstarted from Hinjili,” Pandian said. He thanked everyone for their cooperation.
In the program, Ekka, Nikita Naik and Budhai Dhangdamajhi from Bisra in Sundargarh district, Themra in Sambalpur district and Mathili in Malkangari district narrated their experiences and said that any type of patient who comes to ‘Ama Hospital’ can be treated in the facility. Good treatment is available here. They thanked the Chief Minister and 5T Chairman for this. Budhai, a resident of Bondaghati at Mathili, said that their Mathili Hospital now seems like a health temple to him.
In the program, Health Secretary Shalini Pandit delivered the welcome speech and the Director of Health offered the vote of thanks.
