Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today ordered to expedite health care infrastructure projects in the State.
Patnaik reviewed progress made in infrastructure development of SCB Medical College & Hospital for its proposed transformation into world class health care institution.
He reviewed development of infrastructure in 9 new medical colleges established by the State Government apart from five new district headquarters hospitals and development of six district headquarters hospital.
Cardiac Care hospital at Jharsuguda, Multi Utility Complex for Post Graduate Students at Sishu Bhawan in Cuttack, LINAC Block at Acharya Harihar Cancer Hospital, development of Capital Hospital into Post Graduate Institute (PGI), construction of Bargarh Cancer Hospital etc figured at the meeting.
The Chief Minister directed for completion of these projects within the stipulated time through better coordination between departments.
Filling up of posts of teaching faculties in the new medical colleges to be opened and filling up of vacancies of doctors, health workers etc in periphery hospitals came up for discussion at the meeting.
It was known at the meeting that OPSC would be putting up an advertisement for the recruitment of around 2,000 doctors and dentists.
How the general public can benefit more from Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana was also discussed at the meeting.
Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Development Commissioner Pradip Kumar Jena, Additional Chief Secretary Health P K Mohapatra, Principal Secretary Ashok Meena among others participated in the meeting.
Secretary to Chief Minister (5T) V K Pandian conducted the meeting and Works Secretary Krishan Kumar made a presentation on infrastructure development.
