Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed his grief over veteran Odia film and theatre artiste Raimohan Parida’s untimely demise.
Taking to Twitter, Patnaik said his absence will be always felt in different fields of the arts starting from plays to jatra, and cinema.
“He shall be remembered for his perfection in acting. Praying for the salvation of his noble soul and extend my sympathies to the bereaved family,” Patnaik stated.
Several eminent personalities like Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan have condoled the veteran actor’s untimely death.
“I am deeply shocked on getting the news of the sudden demise of Odia film industry’s eminent actor Raimohan Parida,” tweeted Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan.
He had created an identity of his both in cinema and jatra, Harichandan said. Despite him performing in a variety of roles, it was his role as a villain that had given him his special identity, he added.
“He shall be always remembered for his perfection in acting among the people of Odisha. His demise is like a big blow to the Odia film world. I pray for the salvation of his noble soul and extend my sympathies to the bereaved family,” the AP Governor said in the tweet.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has expressed his grief and shock over Raimohan Parida’s death.
“I am saddened and shocked over the death of Odisha’s popular artiste and senior cine actor Raimohan Parida. He was known in every household for his rare and perfect acting in Odia cinema and jatra for a long period of time.
The death of such a competent person in the field of cinema and jatra is unbelievable. None can take the special place he has created for himself in the field of acting. I pray for the salvation of the noble soul and extend my sympathies to the bereaved family. Om Shanti,” Pradhan tweeted in Odia.
