Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inspired children from across Odisha to dream big and work hard while addressing the inauguration of the ‘Utsaha’ program organized by the Odisha State Child Protection Society (OSCPS) under the Women and Child Development Department.
The event, held at Kalinga Stadium, brought together 580 children from 165 child care centres across the state.
In his speech, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of nurturing big dreams and putting in relentless effort to achieve them. “The bigger the canvas of our dreams, the bigger the picture will be,” he said.
Drawing inspiration from figures like Neeraj Chopra and Sachin Tendulkar, he urged the children to channel their talents, creativity, and hard work toward success in their respective fields.
The event also featured the state-level children’s festival ‘Mahak’ on the 26th and 27th, while the sports festival ‘Utsaha’ spans two days from the 28th to the 29th.
The Chief Minister highlighted the role of sports in fostering discipline and self-confidence, encouraging participants to focus on their interests with determination. He also reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting rural talents through initiatives like sports hostels, which have helped produce international athletes from Odisha.
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo reinforced the government’s role as a parental figure for children living in child care centres, assuring continuous support for their growth.
Other dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Minister and Women & Child Development Minister Parvati Parida and Sports Minister Suryabansi Suraj, also graced the occasion.
The Chief Minister concluded his address by inaugurating a football match between teams from Dhenkanal and Ganjam district child care centres.
