Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today felicitated two international Odia sportswomen Shriyanka Sadangi and Jayanti Behera at his house Naveen Nivas.
Praising these two sportswomen for their outstanding achievements, Patnaik said by bringing glory to the State, they have inspired other sportspersons.
Expressing that they have brought glory for Odisha at the world level, the Chief Minister hoped that they will be more successful in the coming days.
While the CM awarded prize money of Rs 2 lakh to Shriyanka, he awarded prize money of Rs 15 lakh to Jayanti.
Worth mentioning, Shriyanka won a bronze medal in the 50-metre rifle category at the ISSF World Cup held in Cairo. She is the reigning national shooting champion.
Similarly, para-athlete Jayanti has won three medals at the World Para Athletics 2022 Grand Prix held in Dubai.
While she has won bronze medals in 400 and 100 mts competitions, she has won a silver medal in the 200 mts competition.
Both the sportspersons were of high praise for the Chief Minister’s foresight and measures taken for the development of sports infrastructure and development of sportspersons in the State.
The two sportspersons took selfies with the CM.
Secretary to CM(5T) and Sports Secretary R Vineel Krishna were present during the function.
