Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi felicitated Mangala Muduli, a tribal student from Malkangiri district, for being selected to pursue MBBS course at the MKCG Medical College in Berhampur.
Mangala, a resident of Badbel village under Khairput block in Malkangiri district, is the first student from the Bonda tribe to get selected for the MBBS course. He was presented with a laptop and a bouquet of flowers by the Chief Minister. CM congratulated Mangala on his achievement and encouraged him to become a good doctor and serve his community.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also announced that the state government would bear the educational expenses of Mangala and other students from scheduled tribes and castes to pursue their education.
Mangala’s father works as a daily wage labourer to make ends meet. Mangala has been a bright student throughout his academic career. He completed his matriculation from Mudulipada High School and Plus II from Boladiaguda High School with flying colours.
Since his school days, he had been observing the healthcare services in his locality and he decided to become a doctor in the future. He is the first student from the Bonda tribal community to be selected for the MBBS course. Her achievement is a testament to her hard work and determination.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by Minister Nityananda Ganda, MLAs Narasinga Madkami, Gouri Shankar Majhi, Irasis Acharya, and Director of ST & SC Development, Indumani Tripathy, among others.
