Odisha CM Felicitates Rutaparna Panda For Representing India In Asian Games
**Bhubaneswar:** Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today felicitated Odisha’s ace shuttler Rutaparna Panda and congratulated her for representing India in the upcoming Asian Games to be played in Indonesia from August 18.
Patnaik said that Odisha is proud of Rutaparna and hoped that she will bring home accolades by bagging medals for the nation at the continental multi-sport event. Rutaparna was accompanied by her parents and sister during this occasion.
After meeting the Chief Minister, Rutaparna said, “The preparations are going on well as it is a major event of my career and I will work hard for it. I was glad to meet the Chief Minister today and took his blessings and will try my best to bring medals from Asian Games.”
Rutaparna has been training under Badminton legend Pullela Gopichand at his academy in Hyderabad for over a year. Earlier in March, she had won the mixed doubles and women doubles final in the All India Senior Doubles Ranking Badminton Tournament held in Lucknow.
She and partner Arathi Sara Sunil had also defeated Simran Singhi and Ritika Thaker by 21-10, 21-12 in Women’s doubles final at the All India Senior Ranking Tournament in Bengaluru, earlier this month, which was a selection event marked by Badminton Association of India (BAI) for the Asian Games.
