Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the National Road Safety Month, with ‘Come Home Safe’ theme on Mahatma Gandhi Road in Bhubaneswar, on Saturday.
According to sources, an awareness rally was organised from Master Canteen Square to Ram Mandir Square to mark the occasion. Participants from the transport department, NCC cadets, students from various schools and colleges, drivers, and artistes participated in the rally.
The Chief Minister administered a pledge to all participants to follow road safety rules. Besides, artistes performed a skit on road safety, enacting the roles of Chandragupta and Yamaraj to spread road safety awareness among the public.
The event was attended by Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, BMC Mayor Sulochana Das, MLAs, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania and other officials.
