Bhubaneswar: Reiterating his government’s commitment to stand by every citizen in both joy and distress, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday presided over the 12th session of the “People’s Chief Minister” grievance redressal initiative in Bhubaneswar. Held at the CM’s Grievance Cell in Unit-2, the session witnessed the participation of around 1,000 registered complainants, who came with hopes of direct redressal of their concerns.
The Chief Minister, joined by seven cabinet ministers and top bureaucrats, personally interacted with the complainants, listened to their grievances, and issued instructions for prompt resolution. As in earlier sessions, CM Majhi began the proceedings by meeting differently-abled individuals first, providing them a dignified platform to voice their issues one-on-one before attending to others inside the cell.
Officials, including Additional Chief Secretaries and Secretaries from various departments, were present to facilitate quick decisions and ensure follow-up. Citizens leaving the venue expressed visible relief and gratitude, reflecting growing public trust in the initiative.
In today’s session, CM Majhi approved ₹9.5 lakh in financial aid for 10 individuals facing critical health conditions, under the single-window medical assistance system of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. So far in 2025, 48 beneficiaries have received ₹53.5 lakh in aid under this system.
Since the launch of the initiative, a total of 10,894 grievances have been received, of which 10,132 have already been resolved, resulting in a 93 percent resolution rate. The remaining cases are currently under process. Grievances are accepted both offline and through digital platforms.
Today’s event was marked by the presence of key ministers, including Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, and ST & SC Development Minister Nityananda Gond, among others. Several senior officials such as Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrata Sahu, Principal Secretary to the CM Saswat Mishra, and Special Secretary Nihar Ranjan Dash played a central role in ensuring smooth coordination.
The CM’s grievance redressal initiative has become a cornerstone of the government’s Vision 2036 framework, with plans to expand these sessions to districts across Odisha, further strengthening the government’s direct engagement with its citizens.
