Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated 440 transformed high schools in five districts on the third day of the second phase of the school transformation initiative under 5T.
While 145 transformed high schools were inaugurated in Keonjhar district, 180 were inaugurated in Sundargarh district, 70 in Rayagada district, and 45 were inaugurated in Nuapada district.
It may be mentioned here that a total of 2,908 high schools have been transformed in the second phase.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that transformation of schools has brought joy and excitement among the children. It has given them new hope and aspiration, he added.
Stating that time spent in school is the best time in one’s life, the Chief Minister said that this transformation has given us an opportunity to groom our children as the best.
The Chief Minister thanked the School Management Committee, the Panchayat representatives, the alumnus, and the teachers for the success of the 5T high school transformation programme.
He called upon the students to make good use of this important phase of life and create a new identity for themselves, for their families and for Odisha.
Participating in the programme MLAs Premananda Nayak, Jagannath Saraka, Rajendra Dholakia and Sarada Prasad Nayak were of high praise for the Chief Minister’s vision for the development of human resources.
Secretary to Chief Minister (5T), VK Pandian coordinated the event. Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra and other senior officials were also present.
While Principal Secretary School & Mass Education Bishnupada Sethi delivered the welcome address, OPESA’s Project Director gave the vote of thanks.
