Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated 531 transformed high schools in five districts on the second day of the second phase of school transformation.
Out of the 531 transformed high schools inaugurated today, 105 are in Dhenkanal district, 230 are in Ganjam district, 73 each in Kandhamal and Nabarangpur districts, and 50 are in Angul district, according to a press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office.
Notably, a total of 2,908 high schools have been transformed in the second phase.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that transformation of schools has brought joy and excitement among the children. It has given them new hope and aspiration, he added.
Stating that time spent in school is the best time in one’s life, the Chief Minister said that this transformation has given us an opportunity to groom our children as the best.
The Chief Minister thanked the School Management Committee, the Panchayat representatives, the alumnus, and the teachers for the success of the 5T high school transformation programme.
He called upon the students to make good use of this important phase of life and create a new identity for themselves, for their families and for Odisha.
Participating in the programme, Ministers Bikram Keshari Arukh & Prafulla Mallick, Deputy Speaker Rajinikanta Singh, and MLAs Angad Kanhar & Manohar Randhari lauded the Chief Minister’s vision for the development of human resources.
During the Chief Minister’s interactions with students, a student from Nabarangpur, Juis Suna, drew the attention of the former to difficulties faced by them in going to school, the former said that more hostels will be set up for children soon.
Secretary to Chief Minister (5T), VK Pandian coordinated the event. Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra and other senior officials were also present.
ACS Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department Ashok Meena delivered the welcome address and Ranjana Chopra, Principal Secretary, ST & SC Development gave the vote of thanks.
