**Cuttack: ** In a bid to redefine skill and inspire the aspiring students, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated Skill Museum, first of its kind in India, on the premises of Khapuria-based Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in the historic-cum-silver city Cuttack.
In his address on the occasion, the CM said, “I am happy that a number of good initiatives have been taken up by Odisha Skills Development Authority to make our youth aspirational in skills.”
“The era of mere domain skill acquisition through it is gone. Now, this is time to inculcate ‘design thinking’ in the minds of youth to foresee future technological needs as skilled professionals,” remarked the CM.
He added, “Museum is conceptually showcasing of ancient and updated things, but, ‘Skill Museum’ at Government ITI, Cuttack is one of its kind. This ‘Skill Museum’ concept will be rolled out in ITIs of other districts for motivation of youth towards skills.”
“My Government has made efforts to forge partnership with international TVET players like ITE, Singapore. I am happy to note that ITIs of my State have finalized their Mission, Vision and Values and they have started their transformative journey,” stated the Odisha CM.
He also added, “Our skilled professionals are now aspiring for winning medals in World Skill Competitions and quite a good number of young girls are opting ‘Skills’ as career, which is a positive sign for our Mission. I am sure the initiatives like ‘Skill Museum’ will take ITIs to a new horizon.”
