Cuttack: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated the newly built state-of-the-art Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal under the 5T scheme at Cuttack for the people of the state. Along with this, the Chief Minister inaugurated nine development projects in Cuttack City and laid the foundation stone for four projects. Today, projects, worth a total of Rs 541 crore were inaugurated and foundation stones laid.
Attending the inauguration program organized in Cuttack, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that today is a day of celebration for our city of Cuttack. Various projects of more than Rs 540 crore were started for the city of Cuttack. Cuttack is the favourite city of the people of Odisha. Cuttack’s Puja, Cuttack’s Bali Yatra, Barbati Cricket Match, and SCB Medical colleges have always been the big identities of Odisha. We have to make this identity even more glorious, he added.
The Chief Minister further said that Cuttack is a city of thousands of years. This city is now taking a new shape. The pride of Odisha, Ravenshaw College has become a university today. Work is underway to transform SCB Medical College into AIIMS Plus Health Institution. Transformation in health, education, communication, and infrastructure is pointing towards a prosperous future.
The Chief Minister appealed to the public that the transformation process will continue with their support and the welfare programmes and schemes implemented in the state such as Mission Shakti programme, 5T school transformation, Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, Jaga Mission for slum dwellers, etc have created hope in the common people and brought smiles to the faces of crores of people.
Chief Minister said that Cuttack City is his favourite city and his native land. Cuttack has always been special to him and shall remain so, he added.
It is worth mentioning that the Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal built at a cost of Rs 90 crore has been arranged to accommodate 192 buses simultaneously. Airport-like facilities for passengers are provided inside the terminal with all the latest facilities including lounges for passengers, and separate ticket counters for men and women. The Aahar Kendra built here is the largest Aahar Kendra in Odisha. It also has Mission Shakti Cafe. Today, the Chief Minister flagged off the first bus to Puri from this new terminal.
It is worth mentioning that on the instructions of the Chief Minister on March 20, 2020, 5T Secretary VK Pandian went to the Cuttack Badambadi bus stand and informed the Chief Minister after assessing the situation there. Later, the Chief Minister ordered the construction of a new state-of-the-art bus stand at Khannagar. 5T Secretary thanked the people of Cuttack for their full cooperation in the construction of this new bus stand.
In addition to Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal, the Chief Minister today inaugurated the Mahanadi Campus of Ravenshaw University at a cost of Rs 66.65 crore, National Law University Library at a cost of Rs 300 crore, DAV SCB Medical Public School built at a cost of Rs 23.85 crore, 550 EWS constructed at Naranpur at a cost of Rs 88.31 crore. and 320 LIG houses, Silver City Boat Club built at a cost of Rs 9.72 crore, development Taladanda Canal front at a cost of Rs 5.23 crore, food court and water sports centre, Urban Haat near Taladanda Canal at a cost of Rs 3.22 crore, Clock Tower built at Ranihat at a cost of Rs 54 lakh, the inauguration of Taladanda Canal Bridge built at a cost of Rs 23.35 crores and construction of health centre and other infrastructure in National Law University premises at a cost of Rs 123 crores, construction of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Memorial at a cost of Rs 22.39 crores, public amenities center at Taladanda Canal at a cost of Rs 45.19 crores Center and laid the foundation stone for the construction of a 4-lane road from the east gate of the railway station at a cost of Rs 8.95 crore.
On this occasion, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain, Cuttack MP Bhatruhari Mahatab, Mayor Subash Singh, MLA Chandra Sarathi Behera, MLA Souvic Biswal addressed the gathering.
