Konark: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated Odisha’s first-ever ‘Marine Drive-Eco Retreat’ at the exotic Ramachandi beach here on Saturday. Naveen was accompanied by senior Ministers and officials of the district administration at the inaugural event.
The Chief Minister released balloons to mark the inauguration of the eco-retreat situated on the mouth of Kushbhadra river at Ramachandi beach. The eco-retreat will be open for public bookings for 45 days.
Among others, Tourism and Culture Minister Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi, School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Dash, Development Commissioner Suresh Mohapatra, Tourism Secretary Vishal Dev, 5T Secretary VK Pandian and Puri Collector Balwant Singh were present at the event.
On the inaugural day, 22 tents were booked by tourists, out of the 50 luxurious tents set up on the beach. The tent categories are – Premium, Deluxe, Royal Villa and Residential Suite. This apart, the eco-retreat boasts of beach market, food court, cultural stage, conference hall, reception, VIP gallery, beach spa and an array of water sports.
After inaugurating the site, Naveen drove in golf cart around the Eco Retreat and took stock of facilities set up by Odisha Tourism. The eco-retreat is said to be the first of its kind in Eastern India and has the potential to transform the face of Odisha tourism. The Chief Minister called upon the international and domestic tourists to visit the Eco Retreat and explore India’s best-kept secret – Odisha.
