Odisha CM Launches Rs 205 Cr Welfare Projects, Inaugurates 300-Bed Hospital In Deogarh

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited Deogarh district on  and inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 15 public welfare projects worth approximately ₹205 crore. Additionally, a newly constructed 300-bed hospital in Deogarh district was inaugurated by the Chief Minister.

Notably, these projects include 11 healthcare initiatives and 4 education infrastructure development projects.

During the event, the Chief Minister announced financial assistance of ₹41.17 crore for kendu leaf pluckers and binders across the state. This includes ₹160 for footwear, ₹200 for cloth bags for keri collection, ₹100 for caps for pluckers and seasonal staff, and ₹700 per person for mosquito nets and blankets for binders. This initiative will benefit around 9 lakh kendu leaf pluckers, binders, and seasonal staff in the state.

In his address, the Chief Minister stated that Deogarh district has immense potential for development. “We will utilize this potential effectively to integrate the district into the mainstream of state development. Since our government came to power, we have prioritized the balanced development of all 30 districts in Odisha. We are focused on ensuring that even the last person in society has access to basic amenities,” he said.

He further emphasized that a prosperous Odisha can be built by prioritizing education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, industry, investment, and employment. “Through the development of all sectors and inclusive growth, we aim to achieve a prosperous Odisha by 2036 and contribute to a developed India by 2047,” he added.

The Chief Minister highlighted that making Deogarh a leading and developed district in the state is a primary goal. To achieve this, the government is taking swift measures to provide basic facilities such as education, healthcare, drinking water, electricity, and transportation to the people of the district.

He also noted, “We have not wasted a single minute in fulfilling the promises made to the people of Odisha. With just 9 days left until our government completes one year, we have taken numerous developmental and welfare steps for the holistic progress of the state, starting from the common people to the district and state level.”

The event was attended by Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Deogarh MLA Romancha Ranjan Biswal, and other dignitaries. The District Collector of Deogarh, Kabindra Chandra Sahu, delivered the welcome address, while the Chief Medical Officer of the district, Bishwamohan Mishra, gave the vote of thanks.
