Bhubaneswar: Participating in the foundation day programme of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan at Samanta Vihar here this evening Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone for the construction of a teachers training centre.
An investment of Rs 25 crore will be made for the training centre, said an official press release.
The training centre will have an auditorium for the training of 300 teachers, accommodation for 100 teachers and 10 workshop centres.
The Chief Minister also launched the Vajra Scheme for the welfare of teachers.
Under the scheme, teachers will donate their one day’s salary to this welfare fund and assistance will be provided to them from this welfare fund at the time of a variety of financial problems faced by them.
On this occasion, 5 best Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas and 5 students who have excelled in various fields were awarded.
Schools and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash, Chief Minister’s Advisor (Education) Upendra Tripathi, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian, Secretary School & Mass Education Department Ashwathy S., OAV Project Director Sangram Mohapatra among others attended the event.
