Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will leave Bhubaneswar on Monday for a two-day visit to Jharkhand. According to the schedule, the Chief Minister will leave the Bhubaneswar airport at 10.00 am today and reach Ranchi in Jharkhand and then reach West Singhbhum by helicopter.
Majhi will attend the BJP’s ‘Parivartan’ rally in Kolhan and subsequently address a public rally at Majhagaon School ground at 3.00 pm. He will reach Chaibasa Circuit House at 5.00 pm and spend the night there.
The Chief Minister will address a public meeting in Chaibasa on Tuesday and from Ranchi to Bhubaneswar at 4.00 pm on the same day.
According to reports, the Chief Minister’s visit to Jharkhand aims to strengthen the BJP organisation as the Assembly elections in the neighbouring state are scheduled this year. It is worth mentioning here that West Singhdhum and Kolhan in Jharkhand are inhabited by numerous Odia-speaking people.
Senior BJP leaders, MPs and MLAs from neighboring districts of Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Balasore in Odisha are also scheduled to visit Jharkhand to campaign for party candidates for the Assembly polls there.
